The first pieces on the Stieg

Zack sits casually on a bench on Jungfernstieg and points to his piece, somewhat hidden from view. A few Sparvar cans are still lying around on the floor - they are the "tools" of the previous night. " Jerk and I wanted to bomb the city," remembers Zack , who, with his crew "The Magnificent Crowns" (TMC), is one of the absolute kings of the city. "We started at the Sternschanze S-Bahn station and moved towards Dammtor." The idea of ​​painting on the Alster pier came to them quite spontaneously - and even the sudden rain couldn't stop them.

Jerk , who was not only a writer but also a skater at the time, spent many an afternoon at the Alster pier - the meeting point for skaters and BMXers. Zack , who was not a skater, had no memories of the place. "For me, it was just a cool spot." What neither of them could have known was that just one year later, in 1988, the Alster pier became the central "corner" of the Hamburg graffiti scene. And so Zack and Jerk were once again ahead of their time when it came to graffiti in Hamburg.
"The very next morning we went back to the Alster pier to take photos," says Zack . And just like with the Cisco train in Bergedorf the year before, it is Jerk who manages to take a historic photo with his mother's SLR camera.
