The Burner under the Bridge
At the end of the 1980s, a writer appeared in Hamburg whose work was to push the "boundaries of what is possible". This is Amadeus , who soon made a name for himself far beyond Hamburg. Since he was mostly alone, For a long time, it was also hidden from many writers who the person behind these eye-catching pieces was.
Especially in 1990 and 1991, Amadeus , who was also a BMX freestyle pro for a while, went out on nightly events almost every day, usually creating elaborate and colorful pieces in risky and highly visible spots. His letters combined a high degree of complexity with remarkable craftsmanship: the bars, curves and blocks were perfectly placed, the lines were surprisingly clean - especially considering the quality of the cans at the time.
Unlike most writers, Amadeus often changed his name. He soon only painted legal pieces under the name "Shore" . At night he wrote names like Who , Sir , Dinr , Enro , Serta , Lor , Ent - or Sera , the name that adorns this deck. The style, a typical "eye-catcher" of Amadeus, suddenly appeared prominently on a railway bridge in Hamburg-Rahlstedt in 1991.
As a member of the legendary crew “RTA” (Real Transit Artists), who were the undisputed kings of train writing in Europe at the time, Amadeus spread his name in Dortmund, Amsterdam and many other cities in Germany and Europe in the years up to 1994. In 1992, he achieved what every writer probably dreams of: a wholecar on a New York subway.
